All quotes are based upon delivery to a ground-floor location without steps or stairs and with access for a full-size truck, unless otherwise noted in the quote request. Quotes are subject to revision if the shipment has been misrepresented in any way, including, but not limited to, inaccuracies in the item description(s), delivery instructions, description of the premises, weight(s), dimensions, or access conditions.

Additional charges may apply for deliveries requiring stairs, long carries, ferry access, limited-access locations, special handling, or any services not disclosed at the time of quoting.

To ensure the safe transport of your products, all items must be factory packed in suitable cartons or packaging.Metropolitan does not provide coverage for damage resulting from inadequate or insufficient packaging. All glass, marble, stone, mirror, granite, acrylic, and lucite items must be properly crated for transport. If such items are not crated, Metropolitan shall not be responsible for damage resulting from packaging deficiencies. Metropolitan does not provide coverage for antique, heirloom, or vintage furniture. Metropolitan does not hang mirrors or attach any items to walls, ceilings, or other structural surfaces.

Under Metropolitan's Standard Valuation Program, Metropolitan's maximum liability for any shipment is limited to the lesser of $500.00 or the declared value of the shipment. Customers may elect to purchase coverage through Metropolitan's Enhanced Valuation Program for qualifying shipments valued up to $3,500.00. Metropolitan's maximum liability under any circumstance shall not exceed $3,500.00 per shipment.

Receipt of the product by the recipient without written notation of damage on the Proof of Delivery (POD) constitutes prima facie evidence that the shipment was delivered in good condition and that no product or property damage was observed at the time of delivery.

All product damage claims must be reported and submitted within 72 hours of the delivery date. Any property damage claims must be reported and submitted within 24 hours of the delivery date.

Metropolitan's standard service includes up to 15 days of complimentary storage once a shipment arrives at the final mile hub. Thereafter, storage charges of $0.03 per cubic foot per day will apply, subject to a minimum charge of $35.00.

Ferry fees will be charged separately on an actual-cost basis, where applicable.

Metropolitan reserves the right to repair any damaged and/or defective items to factory or industry standards using the closest available market parts, materials, or suitable substitutes.

Metropolitan’s Enhanced Valuation Program allows you to declare a shipment value between $501 and $3,500 for an additional fee equal to 1.11% of the declared value, subject to a $20 minimum charge and $38.85 maximum charge. By selecting this option, you acknowledge and agree that Metropolitan’s maximum liability for loss or damage to the shipment will be limited to the declared value selected under the program and will not exceed the shipment’s actual landed cost.

Metropolitan’s standard valuation coverage per shipment is limited to the lesser of $500 or the declared value of the shipment. By selecting this option, you acknowledge and agree that Metropolitan’s maximum liability for loss or damage to the shipment will not exceed $500 per shipment, even if the actual value of the shipment is greater than $500. If additional coverage is desired, the Enhanced Valuation Program must be selected prior to shipment.
